Today, Doug Bowen joined the team and Wally returned home. Jim Holland arrived to accompany us until Mill Bay.
Having time on our hands, Bishop and I both got hair cuts - different barbers. We wondered later why our heads were cold (Bishop bought a toque).
The people of Campbell River have been so good to us. Doug and I have wonderful hosts, Wendy Norton and Rick and Jane Monchak have been most generous.
Rev. Blair and his people hosted a dessert party in the evening with a fabulous dessert table a block long. We filled our stomachs and a plate for tomorrow.
Bishop said in his remarks that while First Peoples who have suffered from both colonization and residential schools need healing, we too as Anglicans need to be healed.
Lots of questions on the journey followed and the 40 people in attendance were very supportive.
And then our travelling sales lady, Marcia, brought out the t-shirts. Several people offered donations. Overall a wonderful evening.
We carry on.
