18km in 3 hours 50 minutes. The bishop is a roadrunner.
Some of the confirmands and their families met the bishop as he disembarked from the ferry, along with a small group of Anglicans from Port Alice, Kingcome and Port McNeill. The bishop was pleased that people from almost all congregations and towns were able to attend.
We then walked to the church with Tanya and Lincoln Mckoen, Ian Alexander and Marilyn, Sister Brenda and Mary Parry and others for a visit with the church family and those from other places.
The young folks got the bishop up the hill and Lincoln walked with the bishop out of town and down the road for several kms (to the first break place).
Deborah Murray, Port McNeill parish leader, and I then walked the entire 18 km with the bishop.
Jeff Nelson dealt with RV issues (flawed battery) and is our technology whiz.
Marcia and Jeff were waiting with the RV all prepped as we arrived.
Prayers with the bishop and off to the Murray's for Jeff and I. Marcia, the bishop and Moraig in the RV.
So, a solid first day and a great first steps of the journey.
30km tomorrow, a real test.
